STORY
Henrique Sloper produces coffee at Fazenda Camocim in an incredibly interesting way. Henrique planted his first coffee plants at Camocim in 1999 and by the 2008 season he had converted his 300 hectare farm to be 100% bio-dynamic. Bio-dynamic farming is often discounted because of some of the more unconventional practices but for Henrique Sloper converting the farm to be bio-dynamic was the ecological answer to his questions of sustainability. Henrique says that his farm is truly sustainable. Bio-dynamic farming stresses the importance of mulching and composting all the waste produced on the farm. This creates a closed circuit system where the older plants and unripe cherry can become the necessary nutrients for the producing plants at the farm. Fazenda Camocim produces amazing coffees and we are proud to share their hard work. Enjoy!
