Colombia San Rafael
FLAVOR: CITRUS ZEST, CRANBERRY, MILK CHOCOLATE
This coffee's aroma is brimming with floral orange blossom notes that effervesce with scents of cocoa. From the first sip, the coffee covers the palate with lively grapefruit that is accompanied by notes of cranberry and plum. Upon cooling, the creamy body develops and combines with caramel, milk chocolate, and vanilla notes to create a sublimely smooth experience.
This offering comes to us from the Colombian village of San Rafael in the Inzá province of the Cauca department. The province is located in the deep interior of Colombia and is known as La Tierra Adentro, or "The Land Within." Frequent landslides and road closures make the area difficult to access. Small villages like San Rafael typically dedicate 20-30 hectares to producing coffees, all administered by a handful of families. The farmers are members of Asorcafé Producers' Association of Inzá, an organization that provides aid to their members across a variety of services. Asorcafé has enabled Colombian farms to access fairer prices and to focus on producing the best possible coffee. Enjoy!
