STORY
Reko Washing Station started production in 2001 and is now processing coffee for over 800 local farmers in the Kochere region of Yirgacheffe. We were drawn to Reko Washing Station because of the uniqueness of their coffees due to their exquisite processing and the high altitude the coffees were grown at. Their coffees are first washed in the near-by river, and then de-pulped by an ancient Agard pulping machine. They then remove the mucilage through a two day fermentation process. Finally, they dry the coffee on raised African beds for 10-12 days. Thanks to Reko's expansive knowledge and experience this lot is one of the best washed coffees we have tasted in a very long time. Enjoy!
