BRAZIL SITIO JOAO NETO

Guatemala Guayabales Single Origin Espresso

TASTING NOTES
BODY: SYRUPY
FLAVOR: BROWN SUGAR, GRAHAM CRACKER, PECAN
FINISH: BITTERSWEET

Our latest single-origin espresso is a classic and straightforward offering that excels with steamed milk but is also striking on its own. The syrupy body envelops the palate with notes of pecan, graham cracker, and brown sugar. The offering has a satisfying chocolate finish that lingers pleasantly on the palate.

STORY
Guayabales was founded in 1977 by Pedro Villatoro Castillo in the Huehuetenango region of Guatemala. Along with two of his sons, Pedro employs aggressive pruning methods to streamline his yields from year to year. The coffee plants enjoy shade from neighboring trees and the steep slope of the land from which it grows. Like other Guatemalan farms, Guayabales has endured many challenges. The roads from the farm to Hoja Blanca are inherently tricky to navigate but become exceptionally dangerous when the region experiences heavy rains. Despite these challenges, Pedro and Guayabales have continued to flourish, growing new varietals and improving processing techniques each year. We admire Pedro's methodical practices and the excellent coffees he produces. Enjoy!
