STORY
The Rungeto Cooperative Society was formed in its current iteration in 1997 when they split from the well-known Ngiriama Cooperative Society and re-opened their mill in Kirinyaga. Coffee production runs deep in this community; the first crops were planted in 1952. In the following decade three coffee factories were founded and continue to mill coffee under the control of the Rungeto Cooperative Society. This lot was grown in the volcanic soil along the banks of the Kii River and is the last coffee on our tour of Kenya this year. Enjoy!
