Kenya Thirikwa Single Origin Espresso
FLAVOR: PECAN, CRANBERRY, DARK BROWN SUGAR
FINISH: LINGERING BITTERSWEET CHOCOLATE
We are very excited to introduce another fantastic single origin espresso offering from Africa. Produced by the Thirikwa Cooperative Society in Kirinyaga, Kenya, this coffee is composed of the Kenyan varietals SL-28, SL-34, and Ruiru-11. The coffee begins its journey on the slopes of Mount Kenya. The mountain provides farmers with the high elevation and nutrient-rich volcanic soil necessary for growing high-quality specialty coffee. Farmers hand-pick the ripest cherries and then deliver their harvest to the wet mill at the Gakuyuini Factory the same day.
The coffee cherries are washed with fresh water sourced from the local river. The coffee is then fermented, sun-dried, and processed a second time at the dry mill. Nearly 1600 farmers and producers participated in the preparation of this fantastic coffee, and we are proud to showcase their dedication and hard work in this offering. Enjoy!
