Specialty coffee in Zambia does not receive the attention it deserves. Earlier this season we found two lots in Zambia that we felt were the epitome of what specialty coffee can be in East Africa. This is comprised of two separate lots from Kateshi Estate and Isanya Estate and blended together during processing to create one unified lot. This lot is grown and processed incredibly with cleanliness of cup in mind and dedication to coffee quality. Kateshi Estate and Isanya Estate both grow the Catimor variety which is a disease resistant hybrid of the Timor and Caturra varieties. This hybrid was created in Costa Rica and has gained popularity across the coffee producing nations because of its resistance to Coffee Leaf Rust and its production output. Enjoy!
