Colombia Reserva Caldono
FLAVOR: TANGERINE, LEMON, PLUM
This new Colombian offering from the Cencoic Cooperative is a classic example of how delicious coffees from Cauca can be. With a juicy and full-body, this coffee finishes cleanly, lingering sweetly at the end. Notes of tangerine, lemon, and plum produce a harmonious balance and as the coffee cools, more vibrant notes of cocoa begin to develop. This classic Colombian offering certainly does not disappoint.
The Cencoic Cooperative is a coffee-producing co-op based in the Cauca region in Southwest Colombia. Coffee is more than a means for revenue; for Cencoic and its members, coffee is a tool for peace. Cencoic includes 19 sub-groups and 2757 smallholder farmers. The cooperative provides its members with educational opportunities as well as assistance during harvest and processing. The smallholder farmers rely heavily on coffee profits, and many are members of the local Nasa tribe, an indigenous group of people that live harmoniously with nature. They act as stewards of the beautiful tropical forest and many of the Nasa have joined Cencoic and adopted coffee production as a pathway for economic growth and improved wellbeing. Enjoy!
