Elvis Tineo Rafael is a second-generation coffee producer in the El Diamante area of Jaén, Peru. On his three hectares of land, Elvis grows Bourbon, Caturra, and Catuai varietals. Elvis and his family coordinate all of the work on their land, including the picking, processing, and drying of their coffee, as well as sharing the facilities. Elvis' primary focus over the last few years has been improving the overall quality of his coffee. He has experimented with various processing methods including different pre-fermentation and fermentation processes. El Diamante is a large coffee-producing area in Jaén, and is home to many coffee-producing families including Elvis'. El Diamante contains protected forests which helps to preserve the native flora and fauna in the region. Many water sources also help to supply the area, allowing for nourishing and stable soil and making it the ideal environment for growing coffee.
